Bow and Knot prides itself on creating all of our styles and fitting all of our garments with the highest quality European methods. All pieces are made in New York City in a factory owned by a Syrian immigrant, a third-generation apparel factory owner who decided to try his hand at manufacturing in the United States. We are so proud to support his and his workers’ American dream.

We also source fabrics from heritage mills. Our signature ponte knit fabric is made in America by a second-generation, family-owned mill. Our special stretch satin comes from an Italian mill that’s been operating for over 80 years. Every Bow and Knot purchase supports families in America and Europe who work hard to create the most luxurious quality fabric.

THE FOUNDERS

LAUREN COURSEN, NATIONAL SALES DIRECTOR



Lauren first got the idea for Bow and Knot when she was the maid of honor at her sister’s wedding: what if, instead of wearing the same boring, taffeta, lookalike dress, bridesmaids could wear gorgeous, contemporary outfits that look great at the ceremony but can be worn any time after the wedding! She started brainstorming and soon gathered the Bow and Knot team around her. Lauren has worked in sales in the fashion industry for many years and is excited to bring her experience to Bow and Knot.

 CECILIA CHOLST, CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Ever since Ceci Cholst graduated from SUNY-The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in 2014, her mission was to create a brand that would make classic wardrobe staples in gorgeous fabrics and fabulous colors. She worked in many aspects of the fashion industry—working on ballet and film costumes, assisting at couture labels, and designing for stores like Dressbarn. When she met Lauren, she couldn’t wait to get started on designing Bow and Knot. Drawing on vintage references and the modern runway, Bow and Knot is designed for modern wedding party members and wedding guests. She wants you to play with your pieces: shorten them, switch out the buttons, wear them with jeans and sneakers, make them functional and gorgeous for your everyday life!
